Abide

2025 // 60cm x 90cm, acrylic & pen on canvas, framed in black wood.

Created for Mr. Michael (Malaysia).

This commissioned piece took me far outside my comfort zone — I don’t usually work with such bold colors, especially bright reds. But I had so much fun and I might try a couple more vibrant pieces soon! ☺️ Love how the colors pop against the black frame too!

I created this painting to suit the client’s preferred palette for vivid hues, intricate details, and a few representational elements like the gold cross and subtle vines to reflect the verse John 15:5 that speaks of being deeply anchored in God — “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

Each color in this painting holds meaning, representing the different seasons of life, and the gold across the canvas symbolizes God’s everlasting presence in every moment.
